2018 Art Award Entries Wanted

15 June 2018

The City is calling for entries for the annual Art Award from 29 June until 26 July 2018, with the first 250 registrations accepted.

This year marks the 42ndannual Art Award and Exhibition with the exhibition running from Saturday, 8 to Sunday, 16 September 2018 at the City of Melville’s Civic Centre in Booragoon.

City of Melville Mayor Russell Aubrey said the Art Award always attracted a high volume of entries and encouraged Western Australian artists to register early.

“The City of Melville’s Art Awards and subsequent exhibition is a wonderful showcase of the talents of our diverse creative community and I encourage seasoned artists, emerging artists and art students to submit their entry early to avoid disappointment,” Mayor Aubrey said.

“The exhibition has become a jewel in the City’s cultural calendar. It not only provides artists a wonderful opportunity to exhibit their work but also offers the community a chance to view the works of 250 creative minds under the one roof and purchase artworks for sale.”

To celebrate the City’s 50th Anniversary, there is a new Visions of Melville category. Artists are encouraged to enter works that depict places and people within the City.
