Applications for the Youth Sports Scholarship are now open and the City is inviting young sporting athletes who aspire to compete at the highest level to apply.
City of Melville Mayor Russell Aubrey said he was looking forward to seeing the local young athletes that are able to secure the Youth Sports Scholarships this year.
Lucky applicants will receive 12 months free access to both LeisureFit Booragoon and LeisureFit Melville, to help them reach their sporting goals and reach new goals.
“We are honoured to give our very own young elite athletes the opportunity to improve their sporting skills in our premier multi-purpose LeisureFit Centres that include swimming pools, state-of the-art gymnasiums and a variety of services, programs, classes and facilities,” Mayor Aubrey said.
“It is inspiring to see young people in the community who are passionate about leading a healthy and active lifestyle. We wish them the best of luck in achieving their sporting aspirations and hope to see them at future Olympic events representing our City and our country!”
The annual scheme is open to City of Melville residents who are aged between 12 and 19 years of age, on or before 1 September 2018.
While the Youth Sports Scholarship is targeted at athletes who have represented the State or at a higher level, consideration will be given to athletes who are showing great potential.
