This year will be the biggest and best yet, as everyone is invited to celebrate our City turning 50.
In its 23rd year, the free family concert has become a Labour Day long weekend tradition, with locals and visitors setting up on the grass banks of Point Walter Reserve to enjoy an evening of live music, dancing, family entertainment and fireworks.
City of Melville Mayor Russell Aubrey said the annual event always attracted large crowds of families, students and those young at heart who come together to enjoy the festivities.
“It is always a wonderful sight to see people from all walks of life travel far and wide to enjoy our pinnacle summer event.” Mayor Aubrey said.
“This year’s concert promises to be outstanding with an impressive line-up of acts and MC Ross Wallman from Nova 937 acting as our host for the evening.”“There will be plenty of activities the whole community including face painting, balloon twisting, a bouncy castle, pop up food trucks, live music, as well as an incredible grand fireworks finale to help celebrate our City turning 50 later in 2018.”
The line-up for the evening includes a traditional opening performance by The Wadumbah Dance Group followed with performances by three, local, sensational acts Big T Trio an X factor finalist, Cold Chisel tribute band Rising Sun and headline act Slim Jim and the Phatts bringing in the night with a seven-piece band and so many toe tapping classics.
