Youth Invite to Youth Week Skate Jam

10 April 2018

The City of Melville in collaboration with Skateboarding WA is hosting a Skate Jam on Monday, 16 April 2018 to celebrate Youth Week.

The event will be held at Melville Skate Park from 3.00pm to 6.00pm and will have a range of activities including a skate competition with awesome prizes on offer, barbecue, music and Paint a Car activity organised by Spaced Out.

Mayor Russell Aubrey said the event was a great way for the City to celebrate national Youth Week and young people in the community.

“We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate Youth Week than with a special event for them, filled with activities we know they will love,” Mayor Aubrey said.

“Those who like to skate can enter the skate competition hosted by Skateboarding WA, those who like art can help us transform an old, used car into a work of art, or those who just want to hang can come and watch the fun unfold with a free barbecue and music.

“All these activities are free so we hope to see as many young people there as possible for an afternoon of fun!”

Young people interested in skateboarding on the day need to book in with Skateboarding WA on their website http://skateboardingwa.com.au/ before the event. No other RSVPs are required.

Melville Skate Park is located on the corner of Canning Highway and Stock Road in Melville.
