Melville City Centre

The City of Melville has a vision for a future Melville City Centre and Library and Cultural Centre, which will see the current Civic Library site transformed into the new cultural heart of Melville.

Melville's future City Centre will support our cultural vitality and give our community a strong central identity - a sense of place and belonging. The Melville City Centre will become a place for people to gather and connect, a place to experience culture, arts, music and learning, and a place to enjoy friends, events, entertainment and excellent dining.

Melville City Centre Structure Plan

The Melville City Centre Structure Plan guides the future redevelopment of the area.

The Plan provides for the activity centre to transition over time from a suburban shopping centre to a mixed use city centre. The changes would be driven by the redevelopment of the Garden City Shopping Centre, including vibrant new high street precinct with cafes, restaurants and shops, new community facilities and new residential development.

You can view a hard copy of the Plan by visiting the Planning and Building Counter at the City of Melville Civic Centre, 10 Almondbury Road, Booragoon.
