Perceptions Survey 2020

The survey will assist in creating a better vision for Melville

Our 2020 Perceptions Survey is now open.

The City of Melville Perceptions Survey is conducted every two years and invites City residents and businesses to complete a short 15 minute survey to help improve our vision for Melville. We’re asking for feedback on our services, infrastructure and facilities so we can identify areas we are performing well in and areas for improvement.

The information we receive assists us in prioritising and potentially reallocating resources to areas of importance, as well as benchmarking against how we are performing in comparison to other local governments.

We will be sending out emails to invite a random sample of residents and business owners to participate in the survey, so be aware that this is NOT a scam email.

The 2020 Perceptions Survey will open on Monday, 23 March, runs for three weeks and closes on Tuesday, 14 April at 5.00pm.

The results of our 2020 survey will be available here during June 2020.

A random selection of people from the City’s customer database will receive an email invitation to participate. This is so we can ensure demographic representation in the responses collected match the Census demographics of our population.

The City aims to achieve a minimum level of statistical validity for each survey, as per the Auditor General recommendations for statistical validity.

  • The Community Survey will obtain views from 1,000 people, which will give the results a statistical validity of ±4% margin of error at 99% confidence interval
  • The Business Survey will obtain views from 100 businesses to achieve a statistical validity of ±10% at 95% confidence interval.
