About the Engagement

The City of Melville's Strategic Community Plan 2016-20 set out the community's aspirations as a desire to live in a City which is:

  • Clean and green
  • Safe and secure
  • Promotes healthy lifestyles
  • Supports growth and prosperity
  • Builds a sense of community
  • Supports sustainable and connected transport.

In 2019, the City conducted a survey into community wellbeing using questions related to those aspirations.

The results were very encouraging, but when it came down to priorities which the City should be focussing, you told us that while you could well be feeling safe and secure, and that your local area is clean and green, but you still think 'something more should be done". We need to determine if your priorities have changed since the COVID-19 pandemic and how this will impact our future strategic direction as a City. A new Strategic Community Plan and Corporate Plan required by legislation are due for publication in September 2020.

We invited you to take the online survey about your priorities and whether they have changed as a result of COVID-19 (Coronavirus).

How We Engaged with You

Who did we engage with?

We engaged with the City of Melville ratepayers and residents.

How could you get involved?

The community was invited to respond to the online survey on this page. Opportunity to participate in the survey was sent via direct emails to a random sample of City of Melville residents and ratepayers, and through advertisements in both social and print media, and the City's e-news channels. 

What happens to your feedback?

Your responses from the online survey will be analysed and incorpated into the new Strategic Community Plan and Corporate Plan which are required by legislation and are due for publication in September 2020
