The engagement report containing outcomes of community consultation on a draft concept plan intended to increase the amenity and community appreciation of a site is now available.
Key stakeholder groups have been involved in the development of the draft concept plan since inception, including inputs from the Aboriginal community. This consultation process provided an additional opportunity for the broader community to contribute, given the importance of this iconic site to the City of Melville.
65 people used the interactive map to leave 187 comments on the features of the draft concept plan.
In addition to the feedback received on Melville Talks written objections to the Strome Rd access were lodged by 14 households from Strome Rd
On balance there was support and enthusiasm for the plan, but there were also concerns, mostly relating to the access points and the size of the proposed car park. In the event that these concerns are mitigated, more support from the community is to be expected.
