8 September 2020

The WAPC have approved an alternative amendment limiting bonus building heights in the Canning Bridge Activity Centre.

On Wedesday, 27 November 2019 Council resolved to submit a modified amendment to the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) for determination to introduce a limit on bonus building heights in the Canning Bridge Activity Centre to one third of base heights in the M10 and M15 zones. This would effectively mean a maximum bonus height of three additional storeys in the M10 zone and five additional storeys in the M15 zone.

WAPC Decision

On Tuesday, 14 July 2020 the WAPC approved an alternative amendment limiting bonus building heights to a maximum of five storeys for lots in the M10 zone which interface with the H4 and H8 lots only. The WAPC's decision means that bonus building heights remain uncapped in the remainder of the M10 and M15 zones.
