Civil Construction Road Works

Len Shearer Reserve Car Park Drainage Improvments, Booragoon

Works to improve stormwater run-off on the western side of the car park commenced 20 June and will involve kerbing installation and the construction of water sensitive swales.

Works are expected to take 4-5 weeks to complete.  

Awaiting planting of sedge species to swales.

 

Stock Road and McLean Street, Melville

Roadworks on Stock Road at McLean Street, Melville commenced 22 August 2018.

Works will be generally be undertaken on eastern side of Stock Road either side of McLean Street to facilitate the installation of a wider pedestrian refuge island on Stock Road and are expected to take 3-4 weeks to complete.

Works are expected to take 3-4 weeks to complete.

Awaiting faux paving and installation of signs and pavement markings by MRWA.

 

Murdoch Path Shared Path Stage 2B (Sutherland Crescent to Somerville Boulevard), Winthrop

Works commenced on September 11 on the continuation of the new Murdoch Drive shared path with this stage to be constructed through to Somerville Boulevard. Future stages will eventually connect to South Street.  Works are expected to take 4-5 weeks to complete.

Road Resurfacing

McKimmie Road, Palmyra

The project will consist of civil, profiling and asphalting works from Marmion Street to Canning Highway.

Civil works commenced 24 July and include upgrades to drainage structures, footpaths, crossover aprons, kerbing and pedestrian ramps.

Concrete and drainage works completed. Tactile ground surface indicators installation to follow. Asphalt works scheduled for completion during the September school holiday period.

Aitken Drive, Winthrop

The project will consist of civil, profiling and asphalting works from Winthrop Drive roundabout to Hackett Pass (South section).

Civil works commenced 9 August.

Footpath works completed. Drainage works in progress between Freedman Way and Winthrop Drive roundabout. Kerbing and concrete works to follow at Aitken Drive and Winthrop Drive roundabout.

Freeth Court, Brentwood

The project will consist of civil, profiling and asphalting works.

Civil works commenced 13 September and include upgrades to drainage structures, crossover aprons, kerbing and pedestrian ramps.

Kerbing and drainage works near completion. Footpath and crossover aprons in progress. Asphalt overlay scheduled for early October.

Patterson Avenue, Kardinya (between South Street and Hadley Gardens)

The project will consist of civil, profiling and asphalting works.

Civil works are scheduled to commence early October and include upgrades to drainage structures, crossover aprons, kerbing and pedestrian ramps.

North Lake Road Southbound, Winthrop (Leach Highway to Somerville Boulevard)

The project will consist of civil, profiling and asphalting works.

Due to high volumes of traffic and proximity to Leach Highway, the asphalt works can only be completed at night between 7.00pm and 5.00am. The asphalt works consist in milling out existing asphalt layers and reconstruct the pavement in two layers of asphalt, which will be achieved in two visits, one for the bottom layer (7 to 14 October) and one for the wearing course (12 to 13 November).

Civil works are scheduled to commence mid-October, after the completion of the bottom layer of asphalt, and include upgrades to drainage structures, kerbing, pedestrian ramps and cut-throughs.

Murdoch Drive Southbound, Bateman (Leach Highway to Grave Pass and Marsengo Road to South Street)

The project will consist of civil, profiling and asphalting works.

Due to high volumes of traffic and proximity to Leach Highway, the asphalt works and some of the civil works can only be completed at night between 7.00pm and 6.00am. The asphalt works consist in milling out existing asphalt and reconstruct the pavement in two layers of asphalt, which will be achieved in two visits, one for the bottom layer (15 to 17 October) and one for the wearing course (13 November).

Civil works are scheduled to commence late October, after the completion of the bottom layer of asphalt, and include upgrades to drainage structures, kerbing, pedestrian ramps and cut-throughs.

Road Sweeping

The City is currently sweeping roads in Ardross and Bicton.

Crack Sealing

The program is progressing depending on the weather conditions.

Current status: 90% complete.
