Civil Construction Road Works

Len Shearer Reserve Car Park Drainage Improvments, Booragoon

Works to improve stormwater run-off on the western side of the car park commenced 20 June and will involve kerbing installation and the construction of water sensitive swales.

Works are expected to take 4-5 weeks to complete.  

Awaiting adjustment of Water Corporation asset to allow final rock installation and planting to swales.

 

Melville LeisureFit Car Park Improvements, Melville

Major car park improvement works to improve car park capacity are scheduled the week commencing 2 July.  The works will include the construction of new parking bays, additional disabled bays, pavement repair, stormwater run-off improvements incorporating water sensitive principles, new landscaping and lighting improvements. The final component will involve resurfacing of the entire car park with new pavement markings.

The works have been scheduled to coincide with other major building improvements at AH Bracks Library and LeisureFit.

Works will take 6-8 weeks to complete and at various stages the car park will be closed and/or have reduced capacity. Alternative parking is available in the overflow car park adjacent the tennis courts.

Kerbing works complete. Lighting installation to car park in progress.  Rock pitching and tree planting to swales commencing 13 August.  Asphalt overlay commencing 20 August.

Wireless Hill Park, Ardross

Path rehabilitation works commenced Friday 13 July at Wireless Hill Park on the existing path between Munsey Street and Hickey Street. The works will comprise minor path widening, pavement repair and red asphalt sealing and are expected to take 3 weeks to complete.

Asphalt sealing completed 3 August.

Deep Water Point Reserve, Mt Pleasant

Works to install new interconnecting paths to complement recent improvements at Deep Water Point are scheduled to commence 8 August. 

The works are expected to be completed by 17 August.

Stock Road and McLean Street, Melville

Roadworks on Stock Road at McLean Street, Melville scheduled to commence the week beginning 20 August 2018.

Works will be generally be undertaken on eastern side of Stock Road either side of McLean Street to facilitate the installation of a wider pedestrian refuge island on Stock Road

Works are expected to take 3-4 weeks to complete.

Road Resurfacing

McKimmie Road, Palmyra

The project will consist of civil, profiling and asphalting works from Marmion Street to Canning Highway.

Civil works commenced 24 July with the section between Solomon Street and Zenobia Street.

On-street parking along Geo Thompson Park is being reconfigured. Pram ramps and drainage structures have been upgraded at Solomon Street and Zenobia Street intersections.

Aitken Drive, Winthrop

The project will consist of civil, profiling and asphalting works from Winthrop Drive roundabout to Hackett Pass (South section).

Civil works commenced 9 August.

Road Sweeping

The City is currently sweeping roads in Applecross and Bull Creek.

Crack Sealing

The program is currently on hold until the weather conditions allow the works to be resumed.

Current status: 80% completed.

Works scheduled to commence 6 August 2018.Path upgrade.  Works scheduled for completion 17 August.

Swan Road, Attadale – Preston Point Road to Davis Road

Renew to current standards.

Arno Crescent, Attadale – Wichmann Road to Calpin Crescent

Renew to current standards.

Linton Road, Attadale – Davis Road to Davidson Road

Construct new path

Heathcote Reserve, Applecross

Renew paths in south western corner of reserve and construct vehicle crossing point.

2017/2018 Program

Tain Street, Ardross (Canning Highway to Bombard Street)

Path constructed with the exception of verge outside number 63 Tain Street as the is a multi-unit development currently under construction. Path will be completed at the completion of the development.
