Road Works - City of Melville 2017-18

Civil Construction Road Works

The responsible officer for civil construction road works is the Construction Supervisor, Michael Powell 9364 0728.

Harry Baker Reserve, LeemingDrainage and park improvements at Harry Baker Reserve commenced 26 February 2018. The works are intended to improve stormwater retention within the reserve by the creation of a retained drainage basin/swale.  The works will be complemented by park improvements including new interconnecting paths, irrigation renewal and grassed areas.

All works have now been completed with the installation of water sensitive plants to the drainage basin and mulch to the surrounds.


Dunkley Avenue, Applecross

Road improvement works completed 10 May 2018 along Dunkley Avenue, Applecross between 37A and 59A Dunkley Avenue and are the continuation of road improvements carried out last year on Dunkley Avenue.

Installation of raised speed plateau scheduled to be completed 14 June with Main Road WA signs and line marking installation to follow.

Stacey Street, Willagee

Works to construct 18 x 90 degree parking bays to formalise and provide additional parking at Carawatha Park commenced 3 May and are expected to take four (4) weeks to complete.

Awaiting asphalt sealing of car bays scheduled to be completed.

Bull Creek Park Shared Path, Bull Creek

Works to rehabilitate the existing shared path in Bull Creek Park adjacent  to Rossmoyne Senior High School (RSHS) commenced 28 May.

Works are expected to take three (3) weeks to complete.

Kintail Road at Moreau Mews and Forbes Road, Applecross

Works to install rubber speed cusions and separation kerbs on the Kintail Road legs only entering the intersections at Moreau Mews and Forbes Road.         

Works sucessfully completed 11 June.


Road Resurfacing

Road Sweeping

The City is currently sweeping roads in Winthrop and Alfred Cove.

Crack Sealing

Responsible Officer: Technical Officer Works Services, Iuliana Anton 9364 0783

Road crack sealing works commenced 7 May and will continue until the end of June, weather permitting.

Current status: 70% completed.

Footpath Works

Tain Street, Ardross (Canning Highway to Bombard Street)Works in progress.

Point Walter Reserve - Brick Paved Area Upgrade

Works to lift and relay the existing brick paving on the eastern section of the footpath adjacent to Walters River Café.

The project will be completed in stages starting with the area around the changing rooms.

Works commenced 21 May and are expected to take approximately five (5) weeks to complete.

Update: Works in progress.  A limestone garden bed wall will be installed around the retained tree in the change rooms area mid-June. The works around the cafe will be completed by 15 June.
