Mount Henry Foreshore Restoration

The Mount Henry foreshore is undergoing restoration.

Project Information

A 140 metre stretch of foreshore between the Mt Henry Jetty and the Mt Henry Bridge has over a number of years, been affected by erosion. A temporary solution was put in place about 3 years ago however a permanent solution is now required.

Works have begun and will be completed by the end of May 2018 and consist of:

  • rock revetment on both sides of the jetty abutment that will provide informal access from the water back to the embankment
  • a limestone retaining wall to create a formal hard edge on a steep section of foreshore where the footpath is under threat. It will also form a usable beach in front of the wall
  • rework of the stone pitching under the bridge to create a more durable rock revetment
  • additional planting of native plants along the entire 140 metres.
