Jim Ainsworth Reserve Upgrades
Active
This playground is being upgraded.
Last Updated: 17 December 2025 Follow EngagementJim Ainsworth Reserve in Ardross is set to undergo a park and playground renewal, and we asked you to vote to help decide the new playground design.
Your feedback will guide the final layout and style, ensuring it meets the needs of local families and park users.
Three exciting design options were developed, each featuring upgraded play equipment. By casting your vote, you help create a playground that reflects community preferences, encourages connection, and provides a fun and welcoming space for everyone to enjoy.
Along with the new playground, the park will also be upgraded with new nature play elements, a swing, improved path connections, mulching, and enhanced bushland planting to create a more natural and inviting environment.Explore the designs

What is park hierarchy? The hierarchy of parks within the City reflect state documentation/strategies. These classifications are based on the number of anticipated visitors and the distance they are drawn from:
The amount of facilities/infrastructure provided at each space reflects the size and use of the reserve, travel distance and therefore, the anticipated duration of time spent on-site.
The distribution of district, neighbourhood and local parks allows us to have a balanced level of the quality of space across the City.
Jim Ainsworth Reserve is classified as a local park.
Why did we engage the community? To ensure the upgrades meets local needs, we asked you to help choose the best design. Engaging with the community is key to building a sense of pride and ownership.
Previous consultation The City met informally with local residents at the park to listen to their concerns and suggestions regarding park maintenance and improvements. As a result, the City has scheduled irrigation maintenance works.
How is the project being funded? This project is being funded as part of the City’s capital works program and was approved in the 2025/26 budget. It should be noted that the budget for this project is limited.
