Disposal of Hazardous Waste
A Guide to the safe disposal and recycling of Hazardous and Difficult Waste.
The City of Melville provides all residents with a 240 litre Mobile Garbage Bin (MGB) for collecting household waste on a weekly basis. Currently there are approximately 36,000 bins in circulation for use by residents.
A modern fleet of Single Man Automated Rubbish Trucks (S.M.A.R.T.) empties the bins and the household waste is disposed of at the City of Cockburn Landfill site in Rockingham Road, Henderson. A secondary waste treatment system converts organic waste into a reusable compost.

Hazardous household waste (hhw), construction & demolition waste (c&d), asbestos & general waste should be taken to your nearest disposal site.
