About the Strategic Community Plan Revision
Residents have the opportunity to have their say, via online and written surveys, community forums and reference groups, to help identify community priorities on major issues such as safety, the environment and sense of community that will guide the actions for Melville’s future.
Feedback will inform the review of the City’s Strategic Community Plan – People, Places, Participation 2007-2017, which happens every four years in a series of wide-ranging community engagement processes.
This follows on from activities in 2005 and 2006, to help shape the original Strategic Community Plan, thousands of residents took part in interviews, focus groups, community surveys and website activities.
The Plan:
• outlines a shared aspirational vision for the future
• identifies key themes and priority areas for action
• provides information for planning and service delivery budgets
By taking part, your ideas and priorities will be captured and used in strategic planning decisions by the City.
Genuine Community participation means involving a wide and varied group of community members as possible and is essential for the success of this revision.
To have your say, visit the City of Melville’s website to complete the online survey, or enquire at one of the City’s five libraries or two community centres to complete the survey.
You can also join one of the Neighbourhood Consensus Forums on Wednesday, 1 or Thursday, 2 February 2012. (Stay tuned for more details).
