While the Old Melville Primary Site is being developed into a Park, we are collecting stories, historical and cultural, that relate to the site and the surrounding area. For instance, the site was apparently once a market garden and the surrounding area a settling place for migrants.
Stories tell us about peoples lives, their memories, and the past, shedding light on the cultural life and history of our communities. These stories will be used to enrich our understanding of the area, its people and provide ideas for information signage at the park and ways to celebrate during the park opening ceremony.
