Draft Canning Bridge Precinct Vision
Planning for a long-term vision for the precinct around the Canning Bridge Station is currently being undertaken by the Department of Planning (on behalf of the Western Australian Planning Commission) in conjunction with the City of Melville and the City of South Perth. Due to significant interest in the project the closing date for receiving submissions has been extended to 5.00pm on Thursday, 1 April 2010.
Canning Bridge Precinct - Place Making
The Canning Bridge Precinct is evolving to become a unique, vibrant, creative community space. As one of the City of Melville’s major strategic urban development priorities, investigations are underway for the long-term planning for this precinct. However, there is also a need for some short-term ‘place making’ activities beyond the built form.
Planning Analysis of the Riseley Centre
The City of Melville has engaged the services of consultants (GHD Pty Ltd ) to undertake a planning analysis of the Riseley District Centre.
Community Plan
Community planning is about partnerships and the City of Melville Community Plan aims to provide a focus for decisions and activities for the next ten years.
Fiona Stanley Hospital
The Fiona Stanley hospital is a project entirely driven by State Government in which the City of Melville forms part of a reference group looking after the interests of the local community.

Melville Visions
Melville Visions was the largest community engagement project conducted by a local government in the Perth Metropolitan area. The project was awarded with a Planning Institute of Australia Award for Planning Excellence at Government House Ballroom on 10 November 2006.
Neighbourhood Development
As part of its leadership role there is an expectation that local government will facilitate the contribution of citizens and communities in government planning and decision-making processes.
Wireless Hill Vision 2020
Wireless Hill was one of Australia’s first telecommunications stations. The site played an important role in both World Wars, relaying messages from ship to shore. Communication was the vision of Wireless Hill back in 1912 and now it’s your turn.
