Residents Praised for Raising Funds for Fire Victims

The Mayor has thanked residents who contributed to the Roleystone and Kelmscott fires at the Limestone Concert on Sunday, 27 March 2011.

Donations totalling $318.20 were raised by attendees to the concert and were deposited to the Perth Hills Fire Appeal organised by the Perth Lord Mayor.

Seventy one homes were destroyed in the fires that descended on the hills suburbs in February 2011.

Mayor Russell Aubrey said, “The City’s residents have once again demonstrated their compassion and generosity by raising these funds for the bushfire victims in Roleystone and Kelmscott. My thanks go to all who attended the event.”

At the Limestone Concert, Joel Nibali sang and the City of Melville staff band, The new EMT also performed. Following on from these two acts, residents enjoyed the Celtic sounds of Irish pub band, Shanks Pony.

The City holds between four and five Limestone Concerts each year with the aim of providing relaxing, free, family-friendly entertainment.
