Residents Invited to Murdoch City Community Workshop
The City of Melville invites interested members of the public to attend a community workshop to discuss the Murdoch City Planning Study – a study into the long-term growth of the Murdoch Activity Centre.
With three of the largest employers in the south metropolitan area being Murdoch University, St John of God Hospital and the up-and-coming Fiona Stanley Hospital, there will be significant potential to establish the Centre as a leading location for health care, higher education and research.
Mayor Russell Aubrey said: “At the community workshop, the project team will explore opportunities for the area with local residents, landowners, businesses and other key stakeholders in the Murdoch locality.
“The workshop follows on from a community briefing in May and will provide attendees with an understanding of the project and an opportunity to be part of the developing Murdoch City Planning Study.”
The community workshop will be held on Thursday, 7 July 2011 from 6.00pm to 9.00pm at Murdoch College within the grounds of Murdoch University off South Street.
This is an opportunity to get involved in some of the early thinking of the planned study and to work within the project consultants as they develop ideas.
If you would like to attend the workshop, please RSVP to murdoch@planning.wa.gov.au by Monday, 4 July 2011.
