Point Walter to Celebrate Music Festival with Fireworks
The City of Melville has today invited all residents to its annual, free family festival at Point Walter Reserve in late February.
The event, supported by Lotterywest, will be held on Sunday, 28 February 2010 from 4.00pm to 9.00pm.
Mayor Russell Aubrey encouraged residents to join in the foreshore music event, which would include fire twirling and fireworks.
“The Point Walter Family Concert and Fireworks presents a great chance for the community to connect with each other and is one of many events to be held in the City this year,” he said.
“Don’t miss this wonderful all-ages event.”
Community Events Officer Kate Schilling said the festival would include a children’s dance party, face painting, balloon twisting, a bouncy castle and an opportunity to learn circus skills.
“There will also be dance performances from The Dance Collective and families will enjoy dancing to rock n’ roll band Chain Reaction,” she said.
“This will be followed by the popular Tod Johnston accompanied by Peace, Love & All That Stuff.”
“In addition, the Fire N’ Motion group will perform a dramatic fire twirling demonstration and the night will conclude with an exciting display of fireworks from Cardile International.”
Festival attendees are encouraged to bring their own picnics or they can purchase items from the cafe.
