New Self-Service Stars at Melville Aquatic

Published Date: 31 May 2010, 12:00 AM

New customer self-service machines have commenced ‘work’ at the entry to the City of Melville’s Aquatic Fitness Centre.

The machines, affectionately named Dexter and Daisy, support the staff by serving members who are attending fitness classes.

Chief Executive Officer Dr Shayne Silcox said Dexter and Daisy would reduce waiting times.

“Due to the popularity of the Melville Aquatic Fitness Centre, our patrons have often had to wait in a queue for up to five minutes. Now members can book their fitness class online, arrive and register with Dexter and Daisy and go straight into their session,” he said.

"Dexter and Daisy will support our Customer Service Officers to provide an improved service. It’s an exciting development and the next generation of customer service.

“To ensure a smooth transition, staff will be on hand during peak class times to guide clients through the simple process of using Dexter and Daisy and also provide a refresher on how to do online bookings.

“In essence, the machines ask for the client’s booking code and then issue a receipt. What could be simpler?”

“In the future, swim school and gymbakids will also shift to an online booking function. Of course, patrons will continue to have the option of booking any class at the front counter.”

To try Dexter and Daisy, the City of Melville Lifestyle Services invites its members to come down to Melville Aquatic Fitness Centre (Marmion Street, Booragoon).
