Minors to Entertain Seniors at Willagee Lunch

Published Date: 10 October 2007, 12:00 AM

Local seniors are invited to enjoy a performance by musical duo, the B Flat Minors, at a lunch-time concert at Willagee Community Centre on Tuesday, 30 October.

The free concert has been organised by residents’ group Willagee Alive as part of 2007 Seniors Week celebrations, using a City of Melville Seniors Assistance Fund Grant.

Starting at noon, the event will also feature a light lunch and a range of interesting guest speakers from the local community.

Mayor Katherine Jackson said Willagee Alive was a group of local residents passionate about Willagee. “The group meets regularly to discuss issues, plan community events and share ideas that help make Willagee a great place to live,” she said. “The City of Melville is only too happy to help Willagee Alive host events such as the Seniors Week lunchtime concert.”

Seniors Week, from 28 October to 4 November, is held to acknowledge and thank seniors in Western Australia for their ongoing commitment and contributions to communities and families.

People are required to book for the lunchtime concert for catering purposes. Phone Kris or Dee at Willagee Community Centre on 9364 0848 between 8.30am and 4.30pm.
