Free, Family Concert Series for Summer
Starting this Sunday, 20 November 2011, eight, free family-friendly events in the City of Melville’s Summer Concert Series 2011/12 calendar will be unveiled to the public.
The exciting choices include live music, held at a limestone amphitheatre, Christmas carols at sunset and the popular Point Walter Family Concert, complete with fireworks, musical entertainment and children’s activities.
Mayor Russell Aubrey encouraged residents to celebrate summer by attending the special concerts.
“These events are always well-attended as they offer free entertainment in beautiful outdoor settings,” he said.
“The Summer Concert Series is spread across eight dates from November 2011 through to March 2012, so there should be something for everyone to enjoy.
“There is no need to book a ticket or reserve a place, just bring a picnic rug and some food and refreshments.
“We usually average about 300 people at the Limestone Concerts, around 500 residents come to the Christmas Carols at Sunset and approximately 6,000 people at the Point Walter Family Concert.
“In keeping with the message of a Safer Melville, I am pleased to report the atmosphere is always friendly, well-behaved and relaxed. I look forward to seeing you there!”
