Exercise Class to Raise Funds for Fire and Floods
The City of Melville Lifestyle Services will hold a free 90-minute Les Mills Body Attack class at the Melville Recreation Centre on Saturday, 29 January 2011 to raise funds for the Lake Clifton fire and the floods in Carnarvon and Queensland.
Members and non members alike are encouraged to participate in the class to raise money for the important causes.
Mayor Russell Aubrey said the City was keen to show its support for those people affected by the natural disasters.
“The people affected by the fire and floods are suffering enormously as they start to consider how they will re-build their lives. Many people are not covered by insurance and they have literally lost all their possessions, including their home,” he said.
“Even worse, some people have experienced the unimaginable tragedy of losing a loved one and others are still trying to trace missing relatives and friends.
“The City has made this Les Mills Body Attack class free in the hope that attendees can donate the admission fee, as well as any additional funds they can offer. We encourage residents to attend this enjoyable fund raiser.”
The free 90-minute Les Mills Body Attack class to raise funds for the Lake Clifton fires and the floods at Carnarvon and Queensland will be held on Saturday, 29 January at 8.00am at the Melville Recreation Centre on the corner of Stock Road and Canning Highway, Melville.
People who are unable to attend are encouraged to make a donation to one of the collection boxes on the front counters of the Melville Recreation Centre and the Melville Aquatic and Fitness Centre.
