Declaration of Office Ceremony for newly elected Mayor and Councillors This meeting will also see the election of a new Deputy Mayor.
Date: Monday, 17 October 2011
Time: Meeting begins at 6.00pm. Photo opportunities available at 7pm.
Venue: City of Melville Civic Centre, Level two, 10 Almondbury Road, Booragoon.
The City of Melville Mayoral and Councillor election will conclude on Saturday, 15 October, when votes are counted and successful candidates determined.
Successful candidates will be notified at the conclusion of the ballot paper count on Saturday evening.
The count will be held at the City of Melville Civic Centre and begin at 6.00pm. It’s expected to continue for approximately five hours.

The announcement will include the successful Mayor as well as Councillors for the undecided positions Applecross - Mt Pleasant Ward Councillor, Bicton Attadale Ward Councillor and Bull Creek - Leeming Ward Councillor.
Three candidates have already been elected unopposed: Deputy Mayor Mark Reynolds (University Ward); Mr Duncan McPhail (City Ward) and Mr Richard Hill (Palmyra-Melville-Willagee Ward).
The 2011 elections will be conducted by the Western Australian Electoral Commission and held under a ‘first past the post’ voting system, whereby the candidate with the highest vote wins. A Commission appointed Returning Officer oversees the election process, taking candidate nominations, to supervising the count on election night and declaring the results.
