City One Touch Away With New iPhone and iPad App

Published Date: 12 December 2011, 05:00 PM

Breaking new ground, the City of Melville has unveiled its free iPhone and iPad application – one of the first local governments in Western Australia to take the innovative step.

The new ‘app’ has a range of useful functions for residents including: latest news; upcoming events; A-Z of services including contact numbers; and a customer service requests section.

City of Melville Mayor Russell Aubrey said the new ‘app’ had been designed in-house by City employees.

“Now the City is just one simple ‘touch’ away. This may include requests to remove graffiti, planning or building queries, keeping informed about local news and notice of free City events,” he said.“The City is committed to staying in touch with the latest innovations, while upholding good old-fashioned customer service practices.

“We were recently proud to win a national customer service award and the new, free ‘app’ is another way the City is hoping to meet residents’ needs and improve upon their customer service experience.

“If a resident has a query but doesn’t have an iPhone or iPad, they can simply call the City of Melville’s customer service on 1300 635 845, visit the website at www.melvillecity.com.au or drop into the Civic Centre at 10 Almondbury Road, Booragoon.”

To download the free City of Melville iPhone or iPad application go to the app store and search for ‘City of Melville’.
