City Calls for Applications for Not-For-Profit Funding
The City of Melville is inviting not-for-profit organisations based in the City of Melville, or who provide services within the City, to apply for funding for innovative community projects.
The Community Partnership Fund is offering up to $10,000 for programs, events, and activities that demonstrate clear benefits for the City of Melville community.
Mayor Russell Aubrey said each year the funding was provided to a wide range of community groups, including the Blue Gum Community Centre’s Music Group.
“The Blue Gum Community Centre’s Music Group received Community Partnership Funding to offer marginalised people the chance to increase their confidence and musical ability with interactive music-making sessions.
“Individuals from the local community and people who have disabilities explore percussion rhythms, creative sound scapes, rock songs and old time favourites.
“The music group has created a welcoming and enjoyable forum for individuals who face difficulty within our community. Bringing people together with music is a great way to include people and share common interests.”
Community Partnership Level One Funding is up to $10,000 and is an annual funding round; and levels Two and Three are available throughout the year.
“The City of Melville is proud to run this initiative and I invite other not-for-profit organisations to apply for funding of up to $10,000,” he said.
Guidelines and application forms are available from the City of Melville Civic Centre, 10 Almondbury Rd, Booragoon or by visiting www.melvillecity.com.au. Applications are now open for all levels of funding. Level One funding closes at 4.00pm on Friday, 28 May 2010.
