Calendar Shows Melville is Blooming Marvellous in Spring
As the weather warms up, residents and visitors will be able to keep track of all the great things happening around the municipality with the release of the City of Melville’s spring edition of the Community Calendar of Festivals and Events.
The calendar, which is now available, lists an extensive range of family events, activities and festivals that foster community spirit, which are being held during September, October and November.
Mayor Katherine Jackson said the events in the calendar captured the vibrancy and spirit of spring. “Our local arts community will be in full bloom with Artopia ’07; the Friends of Wireless Hill will host their annual guided wildflower walk; and businesses in Applecross Village will be tempting you with their wares at the Jacaranda Festival,” she said. “Our City’s young people will be kept entertained with the Battle Royale battle of the bands competition and school holiday activities while our seniors can take part in Seniors Week celebrations.”
The City of Melville produces four editions of the Community Calendar of Festivals and Events annually to inform residents about events and activities they can experience and enjoy during the year.
Copies of the spring calendar are available from Melville Civic Centre, all City of Melville libraries, recreation centres and community centres, local schools and Garden City and Bull Creek shopping centres. Alternatively, people can download a copy from www.melvillecity.com.au or phone the City of Melville on 9364 0666 to have a copy mailed to them.
