The City of Melville’s Mayor Russell Aubrey and Chief Executive Officer Dr Shayne Silcox have released the City of Melville’s Community Annual Report 2010-2011 to residents at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday, 8 December 2011.

Speaking at the AGM, Dr Silcox welcomed attending residents and said the City had experienced a "dynamic and diverse year."

"The City continues to engage State Government to fund the infrastructure requirements around Fiona Stanley Hospital. The Premier Colin Barnett and Minister for Planning John Day, Minister for Transport Troy Buswell, Treasurer and Member for Murdoch Christian Porter and the Member for Riverton Mike Nehan visited the City of Melville to learn more," he said.

"I am pleased to inform you the City has been busy purchasing millions of dollars worth of land for public space purposes - the latest purchase being the $3.5 million acquisition of the former Water Authority land in Mount Pleasant.

"At the same time we have been adding to our Reserve funds in order to save for the replacement of the City's assets while delivering among the lowest level of rate rises in the State.

"The City was pleased to respond to the questions raised by residents and the answers are available on our website. The City is committed to a transparent and accountable relationship with residents and encourages an ongoing dialogue."
