Introduction to Romance Writing
Join award-winning author Leah Ashton for a romance writing workshop.
Leah won the 2011 Harlequin Mills & Boon competition for her first book Secrets and Speed Dating as well as the 2012 Reviewer’s Choice Award for Best Harlequin Romance and the 2014 Romance Writers of America Rita Award for Why Resist a Rebel? She has now written six books which have been translated into more than 7 languages and have sold over 250,000 copies globally.
Introduction to Romance Writing is a two hour workshop and covers:
• What is a romance
• Romance sub genres
• Goal, Motivation & Conflict (this is the bulk of the workshop, and these are the building blocks of all genre fiction, not only romance)
• Next steps (how to get published)
Worksheets and handouts are provided for attendees.

PICAC (Partners in Culturally Appropriate Care) for WA, Dementia Australia and the City of Melville invite you to a presentation on Your Brain Matters.
Your Brain Matters helps you to look after your brain. It is based on scientific evidence about health and lifestyle factors associated with brain function and the risk of developing dementia.
You can learn how to help reduce the risk of dementia in later life especially for people from a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) background.
There is a choice of two session times:
