The Quod Project

Tania Ferrier : 21 January - 27 February 2011

The Quod Project is a multidisciplinary art exhibition by Tania Ferrier about a building called the Quod. The Quod is the largest deaths in custody site in Australia and is now part of a luxury style tourist resort on Rottnest Island. In collaboration with Aboriginal elders representing Wadjemup/Rottnest and photographer James Kerr, “The Quod Project” exposes hidden history and holds up a mirror to ourselves; are we responsible for our ignorance?

An Artist’s Forum with Artist Tania Ferrier, Writer Josephine Wilson and Indigenous Elder Noel Nannup will be held on Sunday, 20 February from 1.00pm to 3.00pm. Email claire.bushby@melville.wa.gov.au to RSVP.
