Locally based artists Paula Cristoffanini & Rizzy come together in an exhibition titled Los Adornos de Venus, which centres on the theme of femininity and feminine identity. Notions of purity, softness & society's expectations of women are examined using materials that reference the female experience.
Los Adornos de Venus, meaning ‘the adornments of Venus’.This is the first major exhibition for both artists, who chose to work with each other as they saw strong links to each other in their works.
Paula
Cristoffanini, a Margaret River artist who was born and raised in Chile,
presents work concerned with conventional notions of femininity and the
role of garments, accessories and adornments as masks or disguises.
Rizzy’s work explores the essence of femininity, touching on notions of
purity, softness and society’s expectations of women, examined using
materials that reference the female experience.
