Visitors to Heathcote Museum & Gallery will be encouraged to look over the fence and into the beauty of the bush at a new exhibit by local photographer Daniella Van.
The exhibition, titled Beyond the Fence, Photographs of Western Australian Wildflowers runs from Friday, 3 August to Sunday, 30 September 2007.
Daniella Van’s passion for photography has developed over the past 15 years. Her unique style has helped her make a name as a successful photographer.
Living in the Mundaring Hills the surrounding bush became an inspiration for her photography.
Her first solo exhibition titled Moods and Atmospheres was held in August 2005 at the local Mundaring District Museum and featured the local scenes of her home in the Mundaring Hills.
Recently, Daniella has focused her photography on local Western Australian wildflowers, which make up her latest collection Beyond the Fence.
Heathcote Museum and Gallery Curator Soula Veyradier said Daniella’s creativity and passion was evident in her exhibit. “The exceptional abundance of wildflowers in Western Australia has given Daniella an opportunity to photograph this flora adding her own touch of individuality,” she said. “She doesn’t merely take a snapshot but an image that has a close-up and personal glimpse of nature’s perfection.”
Her wildlife series Beyond the Fence was officially opened by WA Herbarium Curator Kevin Thiele on Friday, 3 August, 6.00pm to 8.00pm.
