About Friends of Piney Lakes
The Friends of Piney Lakes (FoPL) is a volunteer community group formed in 2002 in the interests of helping protect and manage the Piney Lakes Reserve through active rehabilitation and controlled management.
Conservation through education is also a high priority, and the Friends are often involved with school and community groups to help raise environmental awareness.
Our Mission
The objective of the Friends of Piney Lakes is to assist City of Melville and local environmental groups in management of the Reserve by encouraging interest and public input through:
- Participation in vegetation management
- Bush land restoration
- Research and monitoring of wildlife
Environmental education - Publicity and promotion
- Special project funding
