Group Tours and Activities

The Piney Lakes Environmental Education Centre welcomes visitors at any time and staff can offer a guided tour of the building or provide information on an array of environmental topics. We also offer specialised small group tours and individual activities. Some of the options we have available include 'Tour & Tea' Packages and the Nocturnal Discovery Tours.

Tour and Tea Package

Get together a group of friends and take part in one of our 'Tour & Tea' packages.  Participants will be guided by a staff member on their choice of either a tour of the Piney Lakes Environmental Education Centre, Bidi Katitjiny Aboriginal Women's Trail and Sculpture Walk, Climatewatch Trail or a Wetland/Bushwalk Tour.  At the conclusion of the tour, relax with a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit on the verandah at the Centre.

The tours take 60 minutes, excluding morning or afternoon tea, and must be booked in advance.

There is a minimum of 10 people per tour and cost is $5.00 per person.  Tours are subject to staff availability and can be arranged using our online booking form (click here) or by contacting the Environmental Education Officer P: (08) 9364 0790.

Bidi Katitjiny Aboriginal Women's Trail Self-guided Walk

Piney Lakes Reserve is a significant site for the traditional custodians of the area, as it was a sacred place for Noongar women.  The Bidi Katitjiny Aboriginal Women's Trail reflects the special relationship Noongar people, especially women, still have with this land today, and aims to promote their unique identity and history.  The trail can be taken as a casual self-guided walk (or with a local Aboriginal female guide, beginning early 2011).  Pick up your trail-guide brochure from Piney Lakes Environmental Education Centre to guide you trhrough the six seasons as you walk the trail.

For more information on the Bidi Katitjiny Aboriginal Women's Trail, please click here.
