Cities for Climate Protection Planning and Review Report 2008

This report is an analysis of greenhouse gas emissions over a ten year period and allows Council to assess progress towards emission reduction goals. It also identifies areas where further significant reductions can be made.

The Cities for Climate Protection Program (CCP) is an innovative international campaign that builds local government capacity to address climate change through a strategic milestone framework. ICLEI Oceania (known as Local Governments for Sustainability) delivers the CCP framework to councils, and works with them to develop and implement a strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. There are currently 225 councils participating in CCP, representing over 82 per cent of Australia's population.
