Holiday Security

By taking some simple precautions you can substantially reduce the risk of burglary.  The CSS offers holiday watch patrols to residents at no additional cost.  Residents who register for the holiday watch service will have their property patrolled regularly during the day and night for the duration they are away.  To register for holiday watch patrols click here or contact 1300 653 643.  

Here are some other simple steps to protect your home while you are away:

• Ensure all doors and windows are securely locked, preferably with deadlocks and keyed window locks.
• Let your neighbours know you will be away and ask them to watch out for visitors and collect all your mail.
• Cancel all deliveries such as newspapers.
• Consider installing automatic timing devices for lights and electrical appliances such as radios and televisions.
• Give your neighbour or friend your contact address and telephone number.
• Your answering machine message should simply say that you are unable to come to the phone.
• Advise the CSS to conduct holiday watch patrols on your property whilst you are away.
