Reticulation Damage - Fred Jones Reserve
- Lighting struck the irrigation controller at Fred Jones Reserve in Bicton on Friday 20 January 2012. A temporary controller has been installed at Fred Jones to irrigate the reserve.
-
The estimated cost of replacement of the controller is $8,000. The City is investigating the merits of claiming this cost from its insurance company.
- Declining Trees
-
Two verge trees at 9 Salen Court, Ardross and 26 Stoddart Way, Bateman have demonstrated decline in appearance. The City has engaged an Arboriculturalist who has conducted an assessment of the trees.
-
The City will be conducting the scheduled application of a liquid wetting agent and potassium over the summer period to assist with the health of these trees. Both trees will continue to be monitored over this period.
Karoonda Reserve
-
The pump at Karoonda Reserve requires repair. An electrical contractor has been engaged to conduct repairs with works estimated to occur late January 2012.
-
The pump at Karoonda Reserve also services Booragoon Lake and the turf at both reserves may decline in appearance until the pump can be reinstated. Wetting agent will be applied to the turf surface at Karoonda Reserve once the pump has been repaired.
