YAC It Up Alternative 2009 Dollars

The City of Melville is inviting community groups and organisations to apply for YAC It Up Alternative Dollars to fund upcoming projects and initiatives for young people

A one-off pool of funding known as the “YAC It Up Alternative 2009 Dollars” is now available to incorporated not-for-profit community groups and organisations to deliver innovative and unique youth projects in the City of Melville.

This one-off funding has been made available this year in a bid to support a series of smaller, grass-roots community projects instead of the once-yearly YAC It Up outdoor concert at Point Walter. These smaller events are intended to support a broad range of interests such as art, sport, health and culture for young people in the community.

The Youth Advisory Council (YAC) have come up with a number of project ideas for young people, including first aid training, sports programs, and multicultural projects, as well as sessions on workplace rights, heath awareness and job skills. Organisations are invited to deliver on these ideas with an innovative twist, as well as any other activities or events that could be of interest to young people.   Applications up to $2000 will be considered and assessed by the Community Development Team in cooperation with the YAC.   The Guidelines and Application pack is available on this page.

Applications close Friday 1st May 2009.
