Grants: General Information
The City of Melville offers a number of grants that aim to encourage and develop local community projects, to support community groups that make a positive contribution to community and cultural life in the City of Melville.
Successful grant recipients must:
- Agree to acknowledge the financial assistance by placing the City of Melville logo (supplied by the City) on all promotion/fliers/stationery, etc.
- Undertake joint media promotion with the City of Melville.
- Agree to special conditions, if necessary, in relation to financial assistance addressing relevant elements of the City’s Strategic Plan.
- Agree to provide a report and details on the acquittal of the funds (on the relevant form provided) at the completion of the twelve-month funding period.
Community Partnership Funding - Connecting and Celebrating Communities
The City of Melville has introduced the new Community Partnership Funding, which replaces the former Major and Minor Community Grants, Seniors Assistance Funding and Festival Grants and is offering funding for programs, events and activites that benefit the City of Melville community.
There are three types of funding available:

Level One - for requests from $5,000 to $10,000 (Level One Now Closed)
Youth Cultural Grants ($300 for individual, $500 for group of 2-6, $700 for group of 7+)
For City of Melville youth to assist with travel fees and costs for cultural activities. Applications require support from an educational institution, endorsed service provider, relevant governing body or State/Federal/Voluntary agency. Note that where a number of residents are chosen to participate at the same event, they MUST apply as a group.
Youth Sports Grant ($100 for individual, $300 for a group of 3+)
For City of Melville residents under 19 years of age who have been selected to represent WA or Australia. Note that where three or more City of Melville residents are chosen to participate at the same event, they MUST apply as a group.
Youth Sports Scholarship Scheme (free access to City of Meville recreation facilities for 12 mths)
For City of Melville residents under 19 years of age who aspire to compete at the highest level. Advertised in the local newspaper, website and also available from all City of Melville Libraries and Recreation Centres, with brochures (see last year's brochure) sent out to schools and sporting clubs in July of each year. Applications close on the last Friday of August.
