The City supports local and Western Australian artists by acquiring artworks for the Art Collection. The aim of the collection is to record and reflect Melville's cultural heritage, the traditions and lifestyles of its people and enhance its environment.
The City prides itself on its unique textile collection. These works are housed on the top floor of the City of Melville Civic Centre, 10 Almondbury road, Booragoon. Visitors are welcome between 8.30am and 5.00pm, Monday to Friday. Information booklets, profiling some of the textile artworks can be downloaded from the link to the right under 'attachments'.
A large number of works from the collection are also displayed at the City of Melville Libraries, as well as at the Civic Centre and the Piney Lakes Environmental Education Centre.
An online gallery is currently in development to widen the access to the collection. This is now live and is being added to.
