Be Active Every Day

Being inactive for long periods can increase health problems such as poor nutrition, obesity and insulin resistance, which can lead to type 2 diabetes and increase risk of developing coronary heart disease.

The Australian Government recommends that adults do 30 minutes or more of moderate intensity physical activity on at least 5 days a week.

For health benefits, children aged 5-12 years and young people aged 13-17 years should be active for a minimum of 60 minutes (accumulated) moderate to vigorous physical activity each day.
