Runs Environmental Education Programs

The Piney Lakes Environmental Education Centre runs programs for schools, community groups, tertiary level students and businesses for all ages and abilities.

Piney Lakes is an environmentally sustainable building showcasing renewable energy technology in a learning context, located within 50ha of tranquil bush land.

The centre runs flexible programs that focus on learning through the discovery of the natural environment and many involve interacting directly with the local flora and fauna at Piney Lakes. 

Guided tours of the centre's renewable energy system are available and the school programs encourage young people to learn outside their classroom in the natural environment of the bushland. Community learning programs are run in the evenings and focus on sustainable living including gardening, energy efficiency, ecology and cover current environmental initiatives and ideas.
